About Me

Education

Educational History:

I graduated from Devine High School in 1990 and went on to attend Texas State University. Eat “Em Up Cats!  I graduated in 1994 from TSU. I have also attended Texas Women’s University.

Degrees and Certifications:

I earned a B.S. in Interdisclipinary Studies from TSU.  I have a specialization in the area of Reading.  Having a love of learning has driven me to further my education by earning cerfiticates in ESL, G/T, and Early Literacy/Reading Recovery.

Current Position:

I am beginning my 7th year at Troy Elementary.  

Previous Position:

This school year marks my 28th year in education.  Prioir to moving to 3rd grade, I was a 5th grade teacher in Troy.  I taught 12 years in Temple ISD teaching 3rd and 4th grades.  I taught 4th grade in Lytle ISD for 12 years and upon graduation from college, I worked for the college.  My duties included a teaching a two yeard old class and managing a college level Home Economics Hands-On lab. 

Family Information:

My husband, John, and  I are celebrating 20 years of marriage.  I am originally from the South Texas area and am loving this area of Central Texas!  I am the proud aunt to 4 neices and 3 nephews. 

We enjoy being outdoors and farming.  We have cattle, sheep, and 13 donkeys. 

 

Personal Information:

When I’m at not school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends; watchig musicals; and baking.
