Colgate Bright Smiles Van Brings Free Dental Screenings to TES

Students at Troy Elementary School had a reason to smile this week as the Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures mobile van visited campus to provide free visual dental screenings.
This initiative helps ensure children develop strong oral hygiene habits from an early age.
Dental health screenings are important for students because they offer a quick, noninvasive check on the health of a child’s teeth, helping parents determine whether students are brushing and flossing effectively or if additional education is needed. These screenings benefit all students—whether they have a regular dentist or not—by reinforcing proper brushing and flossing techniques to help prevent cavities.
This was Troy ISD’s first year welcoming the Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures mobile unit, and the turnout was fantastic! “While some students were initially nervous, they quickly warmed up to the experience." Nurse Krystal Pring shared. “The van looked just like a real dental office, but after their screenings and interactive education session, students were ECSTATIC! They loved the fun physical activity games, eagerly asked questions, and shared their own dental stories. Many students would love to participate again if given the opportunity in the future!”
A huge thank youto Nurse Pring for organizing this event and to Colgate for their commitment to empowering children and families with good oral hygiene habits. Together, we’re working toward bright and healthy futures—one smile at a time!
