5th Grade Students Participate in Regional History Fair at Baylor University

Fifth-grade students from Troy Elementary School traveled to Baylor University in Waco on Friday, February 21, 2025, to compete in the Heart of Texas Regional History Fair (HOTRHF). The event, which includes students from 14 counties across Central Texas, provides opportunities for academic growth, artistic expression, and social development.
Troy students presented five individual and five group posters alongside peers from the region, showcasing their research, analysis, and historical understanding. Following the competition, they continued their day of learning with a visit to the Mayborn Museum.
Sophia Wheeler was recognized with the "Outstanding Work in American History" award from the Daughters of the American Revolution-Elizabeth Gordon Bradley Chapter.
“I could not be more proud of our 5th grade GT students for their dedication and passion as they prepared for the National History Day Fair at Baylor University for the first time.” Shared Samantha Preece Gifted and Talented Coordinator. “Their hard work, research, and presentation skills exemplify the very best of what it means to be a scholar and a leader. Congratulations to each of them on this outstanding achievement!”
Fantastic work to these students and thank you to our Troy ISD community for partnering with us and helping achieve student academic success!
