Education & Experience:

I began my teaching career in Troy, starting with my student teaching experience; where I learned from 3 outstanding educators: the late Jan Wiseman (1^st grade), Kathy Popelka (3^rd grade), and Trudi Jeter (High School Special Education). Upon graduating with my bachelors degree in Elementary Education from UMHB, I was fortunate to be hired to teach first grade at Mays Elementary. At this time, I immediately began working on my masters degree in School Counseling from UMHB. After finishing my masters degree, I accepted an Elementary School Counselor position at Western Hills Elementary in Temple ISD; where I spent 8 years and gained a plethora of leadership and administrative experience. I feel strongly that the experience and training I have had over the years, combined with my knowledge and passion for the community of Troy; are a strong asset for developing academic success and student achievement!

About Me:

Outside of school, my favorite thing to do is travel and spend time with my family. My husband Lawson and I have two sons, Liam and Layton, who keep us busy with all of their extracurricular activities.

I am beyond excited to serve as the Assistant Principal on the exact campus where I attended elementary school!
